Honestly, I'm usually the type of person who just buys a package tour and lets someone else do all the planning. It's easy. You don't have to worry about anything. But last summer, I kind of got obsessed with the idea of doing something different. I really wanted to take a road trip... like a proper one, with multiple stops and no strict schedule. Of course, I didn't want to travel alone, so I called up two of my close friends and suggested the idea. We got together one evening... just at my place, nothing fancy... and started brainstorming. We made a plan based on places we all wanted to visit and how much time and money we could afford to spend. It wasn't anything super detailed... more like a rough itinerary so we'd have some direction but still feel free to change plans along the way. The idea was to rent a van, pack up all our stuff... tents, sleeping bags, some food and water... and just hit the road. We wanted to keep it low-key and simple, just enjoying the drive, the music, the towns we'd find along the way. It felt more li adventure than a regular trip. To be honest, I was excited and a little nerve the same time. I'd never done a trip like that before... no fixed hotels, no real structure. But that was the fun of it. In the end, it turned out to be one of the best experiences I've ever had. The planning part, even though it was pretty casual, actually made the trip even better because we all got involved and it felt like our trip from the start.
