26. expressing feelings, communication
Q1- What is the difference between males and females in terms of expressing their feelings?
Ans- Well, women, more often than not, are much more emotional and expressive than men, and are prone to talk about what they are feeling as well as demonstrate their feelings with tears, facial expressions, hand gestures and body language. What is more, as it strikes me, women mostly express their emotions through words. But, as far as men are concerned, it seems to me that they mostly feel uncomfortable showing their emotions openly , which explains why they have a better control over their emotions in comparison with women. Oh, and they definitely mostly express their emotions through actions which makes them different from women as well.
Q2- Who tends to show their feelings more openly, adults or children?
Ans- In general, kids seem more open when it comes to showing how they feel. Some kids are naturally shy, sure, but most of the time, they don't really hide how they feel. If they're sad or excited or angry, it shows. Adults, on the other hand, often learn to hold things in. It's not always because they're shy. It's more about how they were raised or what society expects. A lot of people grow up hearing things like 'don't cry', 'don't overreact', or 'stay calm', so they start hiding their emotions even when they don't mean to. Many grown-ups are afraid of being judged or seen as too emotional. There's this fear of being vulnerable or looking weak, and it's really common. So even though both kids and adults can be quiet and I think kids are still more emotionally open.
Q3- Do you think it is good or bad for people to show feelings openly?
Ans- Honestly, I think it is a good when people show their feelings openly, at least in most cases. It helps others understand how you really feel and that can bring people closure. It also builds trust, because when you're open, people see that you're being real with them. Plus, expressing feelings can make you feel better. It takes some of the weight off and lets others support you if they know what you are going through. Of course, it depends on the situation. In some cultures or formal settings, showing your feelings too openly might be seen as a lack of control or even unprofessional. People might expect you to stay neutral or private. Also, some feel awkward when other star talking abut personal things like sadness, love or fear. They just do not know how to respond. So even though I think being open about your feelings can be a good thing, it really depends on the time, place and the people around you.
