You should say:

why you had a long journey

how you felt about the journey

Ans- Recently my family and I were flying home from holiday, and what should've been a one-day trip somehow stretched into almost two days. Honestly, for me that was a super long journey. The plan was simple: we had a connecting flight to Amsterdam and then a flight home. The tickets were with different airlines, and the layover was pretty short. But it was the cheapest and fastest option, so we took the risk and hoped everything would go smoothly. But it didn't. Our first flight was delayed by three hours, which meant we missed our second one. And to make things worse, there were no seats left on the next available flight in economy. Business class was way too expensive for us, so we ended up booking tickets for a flight that was twelve hours later. That meant twelve hours of walking around the airport, trying to kill time. At last, we got to our destination airport, but by the time we landed, we had already missed the last bus from the airport to our city. So once again we had to wait (this time around five hours) for the next available one. At the time it felt like one disaster after another, but now it's just one of those travel stories we'll always remember.
