28.Travelling, long journeys
Q1 What are the differences between group travelling and travelling alone?
Ans- Well, I think there are some clear differences between group travelling and travelling alone. When people travel in a group, they usually share experiences, which can make the trip more enjoyable and memorable. Another benefit is that costs like hotels or taxis can be divided, so it often becomes more affordable. At the same time, traveling with others gives a sense of safety and support, which is especially important in unfamiliar places. On the other hand, travelling alone offers much more freedom because people can choose their own schedule and change plans whenever they want. Solo trips also help people become more independent and confident, since they need to rely only on themselves. Of course, it can sometimes feel lonely and more expensive because there's no one to share the costs with. Overall, I'd say group travelling is better for people who enjoy company, while solo travelling is great for those who value independence and flexibility.
Q2 What do we need to prepare for a long journey?
Ans- Well, as far as the advantages of travelling by plane are concerned, they are speed, comfort and security, to my mind. Travelling by plane is the fastest way to reach some destination at a great distance, and the main benefit it provides people with is saving a lot of time. It's also the most comfortable way of travelling which offers many options for entertainment, a chance to pull out the computer and get some work done and even an opportunity to catch up on your sleep if you are tired and the flight is long. Oh, and it's one of the safest ways to travel as well. The disadvantages of this type of travelling I can come up with are the cost, as flying is more expensive than travelling by other means of transport, and some health side effects such as feeling sleepy and headachy because of low oxygen, getting dehydrated and having problems with ears because of air pressure.
Q3 What is good and bad about travelling by plane?
Ans- I think some people prefer to travel in their own country, first of all, because it's cheaper and saves money. Plane tickets and hotels in another country can be really expensive, so staying local is often more affordable. Another reason is that it makes people feel safer. When they are in their own country, they don't have to worry about language barriers or unfamiliar rules, which makes the journey more relaxing. It also means they can travel by their own car, which is more comfortable and gives them the freedom to stop wherever they want. Besides, local travel allows people to explore regions they might not know well and discover hidden gems close to home. Some also enjoy supporting local businesses and learning more about their own culture. For all these reasons, many people think that travelling within their country can be just as exciting as going abroad.
Q4 Why do some people prefer to travel in their own country rather than going abroad?
Ans- I think the main reason is it's just super exciting. People want to experience a different culture, meet new people, and see the world. They want to explore new places, try different foods, and learn about other ways of life. For example, when you travel, you get to try food you've never had before, like street food in Thailand or fresh pasta in Italy. You can experience the local traditions, whether it's a festival in Brazil or a tea ceremony in Japan. When people choose to actually live abroad, it's a whole different level. They get to fully immerse themselves in a new culture, learn a new language, and get to know a completely different lifestyle. It could be something as simple as understanding how people spend their weekends in a new country, or as big as adapting to a different work culture or lifestyle that's more laid-back or more fast-paced than what they're used to. For many, it might be about seeking a change. Maybe they want a fresh start or are looking for a better quality of life, whether that's due to political reasons, a better healthcare system, or just a place that offers more opportunities. For example, someone might move to another country because the job market in their home country is tough, but in a new place, there are better career prospects. Or, someone might choose to live in a country with a stronger healthcare system, especially if they've had trouble accessing good healthcare where they live.
Q5 Why are more and more young people going on long trips nowadays?
Q6 Why do some people prefer long journeys?
Ans- Well, I guess, first of all, because only long trips let the young to escape from the daily grind and everyday stressors and reset before returning to their normal life. One more reason why young people opt for long trips is a chance to see more places of interest and learn more about the world and themselves getting awesome and unforgettable experiences, expanding social networks and developing skills in problem-solving and creative thinking. Long journeys also help youth become more independent and mature, get food for thought and have tons of stories to recall. I think these are the main things that make long trips appealing to the young.
