29.Rewards, shopping, goals
Q1-Should employees have their own goals?
ANS- Yes, I think if someone wants to grow in their current company, get a better position somewhere else in the future, or even start their own business one day, they need to grow both professionally and personally. And for this, they should definitely have their own goals, not just stick to the responsibilities or targets set for their current role. When employees set their own goals, they make control of their development. They're not just waiting for a manager to tell them what to do.
Q2-What rewards can companies offer to outstanding employees?
Q3-How should bosses reward employees?
ANS- Well, any rewards that will make them feel special and valued, for example, letting them be 'CEO' for the day, spending the day shadowing the CEO of the company or introducing them to the 'VIPs' in the organization, I mean upper members of the management team or key customers. I also think it will be a good idea for companies to invest in their personal development sending them to a seminar or educational activity of interest or just give them a spa day or other special treatment.
Q4-Why do people like shopping more now than in the past?
ANS- I think shopping has just become so much easier than it used to be. These days, people can buy almost anything online without even leaving the house, and it gets delivered right to their door. Plus, there are way more options now. You can find products from all over the world, not just what's available in your local stores.
Q5-What are the benefits and drawbacks of consumerism [shopping] for a country's economy?
ANS- Well, as far as the pros of consumerism are concerned, it stimulates economic growth by creating a never ending cycle of buying and selling. The more goods are consumed by society, the higher the growth rate of the economy is. This usually leads to the loss of manufacturing jobs, which in turn leads to a corresponding growth in unemployment and the number of welfare recipients, less personal wealth, a shrinking tax base, fewer public services and greater public and private debt, hopelessness for job seekers and a growing negative balance of trade.
Q6-How should children spend their allowance money?
ANS- I think children should learn to save a part of their allowance, even if it's just a small amount each week. It helps them understand that if they want something more expensive in the future , like a new game or a bike , they need to plan for it. It also teaches them patience and shows that some things in life are worth waiting for. At the same time, I think it's important to let them enjoy some of their money too.
Q7-What kinds of gifts do young people like to receive as rewards?
ANS- I think young people usually enjoy getting things related to technology. For example, wireless headphones, smartwatches or even accessories for their phones. These gifts are exciting useful in everyday life, and often feel more special than just money. Another thing many young people enjoy is getting experience based gifts like concert tickets, a movie pass, or a fun activity like bowling or an escape room.
