42.Wild Animals
i. Why are most children interested in wild animals?
In my opinion, the main reason is that the majority of popular cartoons feature wild animals, and these animals often represent positive qualities like honesty, loyalty, courage, and strength. For example, in The Lion King, Simba is a lion who learns about friendship and how to be brave. In Zootopia, the animals, like rabbits and foxes, work together; this shows how important it is to accept and help each other. Kung Fu Panda has a panda named Po, who is funny and shows great courage. There are many children's books and documentaries about wild animals too. It seems like there are more books about wild animals than about pets. The more children watch these cartoons and read books, the more they become interested in wild animals.
ii. Should parents take their children to the zoo to see wild animals?
On the one hand, it's a good idea because zoos help children learn about different animals. For example, they can see how animals look and behave, and in contact zoos, children can even touch and play with some animals. Seeing wild animals can also inspire some children to think about future careers, like being a veterinarian, zoologist, or wildlife photographer. And for many children, going to the zoo is the only way to see wild animals up close. Not all families can travel around the world to see animals in nature, and it can also be dangerous to see them in the wild. On the flip side, it can be stressful for both children and animals. In some zoos, the conditions may not be good enough. Animals might not have enough space, and this could make them sick or unhappy. Seeing animals in such places can upset children. In zoos, animals don't always act like they would in the wild - they might not hunt or play as they usually do. Some animals can also get stressed because of the noise and large crowds. They might feel scared or nervous when many people watch them all the time.
