i. Why are young people so obsessed with watching short videos?
First of all, since the videos are short, they switch from one to another quickly, like the changing images in a kaleidoscope. People don't even realize how easily they get pulled into this flow, and before they know it they've watched 10 videos in a row. Apps like Tik Tok or YouTube keep showing new videos, making it hard to stop watching. Secondly, short videos don't take a lot of time, so they're quick and easy to watch. For example, if you only have a few minutes while waiting for a bus, you can watch a short video and not get bored. Finally, many young people today have shorter attention spans, so they have a hard time keeping their attention for long periods. That's why short videos are perfect for them, as they don't need to concentrate for too long.
ii. Do you think online learning will replace face-to-face learning?
No, that's not gonna happen anytime soon. Even though online learning has lots of benefits, like being able to learn from anywhere and at any time, face-to-face learning still has some important benefits that online learning doesn't fully provide. First, in person, your teacher's physical presence makes the interaction feel more natural. You feel like you're really WITH the person, which can make it easier to pay attention and feel connected to the lesson. Online, even though you can see emotions, the screen creates a distance that sometimes makes it harder to feel fully engaged. So, even when an online course includes communication with a human teacher, it's still a different quality of interaction compared to face-to-face. And in most cases, online courses provide feedback from an Al assistant or written feedback. Another reason is that in face-to-face learning, you don't have to worry about the internet connection freezing or the camera lagging. You can react to your teacher's body language instantly without interruptions, which helps you understand the lesson better.
