48.Feeling Confident

i. Why do so many people lack confidence these days?

Actually, there are lots of things that make people less confident, but I think social media is what hurts people's confidence the most. This is because people often compare themselves to others. When they see others living perfect lives, it can make them feel bad about themselves and devalue their achievements. For example, on Instagram, people see others with nice clothes and fun trips, which makes them feel they are not good enough. Additionally, there are people who brag about making millions while doing almost nothing. In contrast, some people work really hard, almost all the time, and still struggle to make enough money to live. As a result, this can make them feel like failures and think they're not good enough or capable of anything. Also, hearing negative comments or criticism from others can hurt a person confidence. For instance, if a teacher or always points out what you do wrong, you might start feeling like you can't do anything right. Past failures can also contribute to a lack of confidence. When people fail or make mistakes, they often start to lose confidence and believe they can't do things well. For example, if someone fails a test multiple times, they might stop believing they can pass it in the future. This feeling of repeated failure can make them doubt their abilities even more.

ii. How can a person become more confident?

In my opinion, it's setting small goals that can help people feel successful and build confidence best of all. When you set a big go like running a race, it can feel hard or scary. Instead, you can break it down into smaller steps For example, if someone wants to run a race, they can start by running for just 10 minutes every day. This small goal is easy to achieve. Once they can run for 10 minutes, they can try to run for 15 minutes the next week .Each time they reach a small goal, they feel proud and more confident about running longer distances. By setting small goals, people can see their progress and know they are getting better. This helps them believe in themselves and their ability to reach bigger goals in the future.
