54.Success, goals

Q1 How would you define success?

Ans- For me, success means feeling proud of the life I'm living. It's not really about money or fame or showing off. It's more about waking up in the morning and feeling okay with where I am. If I'm doing something I enjoy, surrounded by people I care about, and I feel like I'm moving forward, even slowly. That's success to me. It's also about peace of mind. Like, not constantly stressing or comparing myself to others. Just feeling content, knowing that I'm doing my best and making progress in my own way. And yeah, of course I have goals and things I want to achieve, but I don't think success has to mean 'big things.' Sometimes just getting through a hard week or helping someone out can feel like a win.

Q2 How would you define success?

Q3 What do people need to sacrifice for success?

And- I'm afraid so. And, in my opinion, there are several reasons for this. First of all, to be successful in any industry, a person has to be nothing short of exceptional, which, in most cases, means putting everything else aside to focus on their goal. For example, instead of spending the night partying with friends, successful people or those who want to become successful will work on an important project all by themselves. Usually they are loaded with so much work that they have to miss their children's special days or family get-togethers. Eventually, this can alienate them from their family and friends. So people DO have to sacrifice a lot to finally reach the point where they really want to be. Plus, successful people are usually misunderstood by the majority of people around them. If a person is leading a non-conventional, non 9-5 life, they are most probably accumulating unique experiences. So it may be hard for them to become close to people 'cause they don't have shared experiences which are the lifeblood of any relationship. Finally, successful people often choose to spend time on their own 'cause they need so-called 'thinking time' to develop solutions to business problems and build their future.

Q4 What kinds of success can students achieve at school?

Ans- I think there are different kinds of success at school, and it's not just about grades. Like, yeah, getting good marks feels great, but sometimes just improving in a subject you've struggled with can be a big deal too. When you finally understand something that used to confuse you, that feels like success. Also, success can be about becoming more confident. Maybe you were shy before and now you feel more comfortable speaking in class or working in a group. Or maybe it's about finding something you're good at, like writing, sports, or helping others. Even things like learning how to manage your time better or staying motivated through a tough term can feel like a real win.

Q5 Should students be proud of their success?

Ans- Yeah, I think they absolutely should. Success usually means they've worked hard, stayed focused, or pushed through something that wasn't easy. And that's something to be proud of. It's not about showing off or comparing themselves to others; it's more about recognizing their own progress and giving themselves credit. Even small wins, like improving in a subject or finishing a difficult project, can really boost their confidence. And when students feel proud of what they've done, they're more likely to keep going and stay motivated. It's a reminder that their effort actually pays off. So yeah, being proud isn't a bad thing. It's part of building self-belief and enjoying the results of their hard work.

Q6 In general, how do people judge or, assess the success of others?

Ans- Well, I guess it depends on people. Some of them assess the success of others by looking at how much money they have or what they have achieved. Others do it by looking at who they are surrounded by or what they feel about who they are. I also know people who judge the success of others by how they meet life's challenges, what personal growth they have achieved or what differences they make in their everyday life. So, it heavily relies on people and their life values.

Q7 Do you think people should set goals for themselves?

Ans- Yes, I think people really should have personal life goals. They give life some meaning and direction. Without goals, it's easy to feel lost or stuck. Goals also help people stay motivated, especially when things get tough. When there's something to aim for, it's easier to keep going and push through problems. Plus, personal goals help people grow and become better versions of themselves. So, having goals is like having a little map for life that helps you move forward.
