56. Strong opinions
i. What do young people have strong opinions about?
First of all, many young_ people care deeply about equality, especially when it comes to how people are treated based on gender, race, and LGBTQ+ rights. For example, they often support equal pay for men and women doing the same job and fight against sexism. They also believe that everyone, no matter their skin color, should have the same opportunities and fair treatment. When it comes to LGBTQ+ rights, young people think that people should be free to love whoever they choose and that no one should be treated differently because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Secondly, many young people have strong _views about mental health, and they often advocate for more open discussions and support systems For example, they believe it's important to talk openly about anxiety, depression, and stress without feeling ashamed. Another thing they have strong opinions about is education .Nowadays young people think learning is important, but they don't believe that going to university is the only way to succeed. They believe that there are different ways to build a good career, not just by studying at university. For example, many young people prefer getting practical experience, like learning on the job or starting their own business

For example, they believe that younger people should always show respect to their elders, say 'please' and 'thank you' and help out with family responsibilities. They might also think it's important to have meals together as a family or celebrate holidays in the traditional way. They also have strong ideas about technology. They think that life was better before smartphones and social media, 0ld people often think it's important for people to own a home because it shows independence and stability. In their time, buying a house was a big life goal, and they sometimes expect younger generations to have the same goal. They might also feel that renting for too long isn't a good idea because owning a home gives you security for the future. And, of course, they often have strong opinions about politics and how things should work in the country.
ii. Is it good to have strong opinions?
You know, it's good to have strong opinions when you are standing up for something important, like your values, beliefs, or things that matter to you. Plus, having strong opinions can help you make decisions more easily because you already know what you believe is right or important. For example, if you have a strong opinion about healthy eating, you'll quickly choose healthy food without thinking too much. On the flip side, having strong opinions can be bad if you are not open to hearing other people's ideas or if you become too stubborn. It can make it hard to have good conversations because you might not listen to others or consider their point of view. This might even push people away. Also, strong opinions can make it difficult to change your mind, even when there is new or better information.
