Last Sunday, I went to the village to visit my grandparents. During the pandemic, I didn't visit them at all because I was afraid to infect them. I missed them very much. My grandpa even said he was more afraid to die of loneliness than of coronavirus. So since the pandemic, I've been visiting them more often to make up for the time we lost even though it takes me 5 hours to get there. My grandparents live in a quiet and beautiful place by the river. They have a cozy house with a big garden. There are lots of flowers, and sometimes orchids bloom too. You know, being there is like travelling back in time. Everything reminds me of my carefree childhood: my toys, old CDs, my bicycle. It feels like you step into another world. All the walls are still covered with old wallpaper. My grandmother doesn't allow us to remove it, and she refuses to get their house refurbished because she wants to keep all their memories alive. She says they both love their 50-year-old chairs and armchairs, their old wooden table in the kitchen, paintings, clay pots old pictures, and lots of things they bought when t were young. You know, I think she's right. There's something special about this old house. It's a magical place and i really love spending time there. When I visit I visit, I enjoy going fishing and exploring the countryside during the day. In the evenings, I watch the sunset from the backyard. I drink hot tea and eat cinnamon buns. My grandmother always bakes them when I come because she knows how much I love them. If I didn't have so much on my plate and if the trip didn't take so long, I would visit them more often.
