I'm sure a rare example of someone with seemingly boundless energy is my grandfather. It seems his motto is, "Life's too short to be idle." Now in his late 70s and retired, he could sleep late, spend more time in bed, read books, or watch TV. But instead, he's always on the go, despite his age. He wakes up with the sun and starts his day with morning exercises outdoors regardless of the weather or season. Then he gets to work on chores like washing and cleaning Since my grandmother passed away 20 years ago, he's done all the housework himself. He also works in the yard, the orchard, and his vegetable garden. Yet, he never seems to feel tired. At least, he never says he's tired. In fact, the more he does, the more energized he seems to get, It's incredible. I l'm just 30, and I'm nowhere near as active as him. At the end of the day, I cant wait to get home and collapse on the couch. My grandfather, on the other hand, is always up for an evening stroll. I rely on extra-large coffees to get through the day, but he never relies on caffeine He believes the most powerful source of energy comes from within. When people ask him how he stays so energized, he always says there are three keys to living a vibrant life. First, he says his energy levels are directly tied to how refreshed he feels each morning. He never sacrifices sleep, especially for TV, and he eats well. Second, he surrounds himself with the right people -those who are passionate about life, knowledge, and work - and avoids people who constantly complain. Finally, he believes in doing something meaningful with his time. He spreads enthusiasm to everyone around him, and his energy is infectious. I can't help admiring him and wish there were more people like him.
