Some time ago, I asked my elder sister what music she liked to listen to when she was my age. Soon, I regretted asking this question. Later, you'll understand why. She played some of her favorite songs, and one of them was 'Wannabe' by the Spice Girls. I kind of liked it and decided to listen to it one more time. On the one hand, almost all the words were clear; however, I wasn't able to sing along. The only line I could sing along to was: "So tell me what you want, what you really, really want. To be honest, even now, I don't remember more than that. Back then, I took it as a challenge. I found the lyrics and tried to read the first verse quickly. Then I attempted to sing along again. Although I could read the lyrics fast, I ran out of breath while trying to keep up with the vocalist. Every time, I ended up slurring my words like a drunk. I decided not to give up. I told myself, 'Impost nothing. I played the song over and over until I go tired of it. However, all my attempts to sing al with the first verse failed. Later, I realized IF a fatal mistake by listening to that song on repeat. The next day, I woke up with 'Wannabe' stuck in my head. I kept repeating those few lines from the verse over and over in my mind. I tried listening to other songs, but as soon as one song finished, 'Wannabe' would return, stuck on a loop in my head. I thought I was going to go crazy. I must say, it's one of the most persistent earworms ever. Once it buries itself in your brain, it feels like you'd need surgery to remove it once and for all. Out of curiosity, I decided to google more about this girl group. What I found shocked me a little. This song is actually at the top of the list of the catchiest songs of all time. If only I had known that earlier.
