Last Saturday, I was so excited because I planned to go to my friend's birthday party. I even bought a new shirt for the occasion. I imagined how fun the party would be music, food, and catching up with everyone. But on Friday night, everything changed. I started feeling a bit strange. My throat felt scratchy, and I sneezed a few times, but I thought, 'Oh, it's nothing. I'll be fine tomorrow. However, when I woke up on Saturday morning, I felt terrible. My head was heavy, my nose wouldn't stop running, and I had a terrible cough. I checked my temperature, and it was higher than normal. I knew right away I couldn't go to the party like this. I felt so disappointed. I was really looking forward to seeing my friends, eating cake, and celebrating together. But I also didn't want to ruin the party by coughing everywhere or making someone else sick. I texted my friend and told her I couldn't come So instead of going out, I spent the day at hemic stayed in my pajamas, drank hot tea with honed watched a few old movies. My mom even made me some chicken soup, which was really comforting. Even though I missed the party, I knew it was the right decision to stay home and rest.
