As far as TV series are concerned, my all-time favourite is the Game of Thrones, a TV drama series based on the epic fantasy novel series, A Song of Fire and Ice. It premiered in 2011, on HBO, but I watched it only last month. By the way, this was the first time I had watched an entire series in one sitting. The events take place on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos in a setting that very much resembles the Middle Ages. The main idea is that several noble families fight for control over the mythical lands of Westeros. These families are the Starks of Winterfell, the Lannister's of Casterly Rock, and the Baratheon's of Dragonstone. To tell the truth, it's very difficult to say who the main character is as whenever one seems to be taking the lead, they are killed off. What I really like is that this TV series has a really compelling plot, and I was always on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. Also, it's really thought-provoking and shows life as it is. First of all, it contains a lot of violent scenes, this is what reminds me that our life is not a roses, but a constant struggle. Secondly, it s that there are countless ways to reach the same goal. All the heroes strive for the same thing absolutely different strategies to achieve the result Another thing that I like is that it is dynamic and not excessively long. There are just 10 episodes in each of the six seasons. I'm sure this TV series is worth a few hours of your time if you haven't watched it yet.
